Richard Raymond, winner of the prestigious international piano competitions, Vianna da  Receive (Macao-Chine, 1999), William Chapel (United States, 1998), Montreal (1992) and  recipient of the Chamber Music Prize at the Van Cliburn (1993) competition. Richard Raymond has also won numerous awards in Canada, including the  grand prize at the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Competition, first prize at the International Springboard of the Canadian Music Competition (1990), and the grand prize at the National Competition for Young Performers of the Société Radio Canada (1991). In July 2003, he won the fifth edition of the Web International Concert Hall Competition. He is also a recipient of the Virginia Parker Prize (1998) awarded by the Canada Council for the Arts, and the Cécile Mesnard-Pomerleau Prize (1995) awarded by the Jeunesses Musicales du Canada. 

He has worked with masters such as Leon Fleisher, John Perry, Marc Durand,  Lise Boucher and Antoine Reboulot. He won two First Prizes, one in piano, the other in chamber music from the Montreal Conservatory of Music. Richard Raymond also has a Master's degree in Performance from the University of Montreal, as well as two Artist Diplomas from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto and Peabody Conservatory of Music from Baltimore, United States. 

Richard Raymond's concerts are received with the highest enthusiasm. In Canada, he has played with all the major Canadian orchestras. On stage  internationally, he has played in Germany, China, the United States (New York,  Chicago, Rhode Island, San Francisco in a marathon of the 32 sonatas of  Beethoven), in Taiwan, Mexico, Brazil, Georgia, Italy and France. 

Richard Raymond's recorded repertoire places great emphasis on  romantic composers such as Reubke, Liszt, Schumann and Chopin and  Canadian composers: Hétu, Gougeon and Réa. A recording with Centaur label will be released soon, with four Beethoven sonatas. 

Richard Raymond is a professor at the Montreal Conservatory of Music Several of his students have won major international prizes, including  Bruce Liu, grand prize winner at the Frédéric Chopin International Piano Competition
