“Last night I attended the launch of 10,000 HOURS PIANO REHEARSAL STUDIOS, the brainchild of Jennifer Messer, Manager of Steinway Piano Gallery Ottawa. Located at 353 Montreal Road with ample parking, the much needed rehearsal space accommodates studios with the best in pianos, both grands and uprights. There are several professional teaching studios, rehearsal studios, a terrific chamber studio with two pianos plus a green room for artists, all in an ambiance where making music will be a delight. The guests at the launch enjoyed the two piano jazz artistry of Steve Boudreau and Peter Hum in the splendid 60 seat concert hall. In the introduction to the evening pianist Carson Becke remarked that community needs music but music needs the community as well. 10,000 HOURS does both. Kudos to Jennifer for bringing this top of the line piano rehearsal studios to Ottawa. New York has it, so do we.”
~Evelyn Greenberg, Pianist
What a joy it was to perform at 10,000 Hours! A Steinway B of my dreams to play, a full house of engaged listeners open to hearing original jazz, and a congenial host, Jennifer Messer, who is clearly in it for the love of music -- what more could a performing musician ask for?”
~Peter Hum, Jazz Pianist
“The new concert space is lovely, charmingly designed by the very creative Jen Messer. The Grand Opening last night was a delight and we are looking forward to spending many more happy hours enjoying concerts at this venue. I’m also looking forward to sharing this space with my students at the newly formed Ottawa East Junior Music Club too. I would especially encourage other young students to take advantage of the opportunity to come to perform on the beautiful grand piano in this intimate and welcoming setting.”
~ Heather Norian, Teacher
''A must in any musical community, Jennifer's idea is a model to follow and serves everyone in a multitude of ways: giving the opportunity to young pianists to practice on first class instruments on a regular basis, organizing summer camps and Master-Classes with renowned artists, having concerts in such an intimate setting which is very rewarding and exciting for everyone. A place to discover!''
~Richard Raymond, Concert Pianist
“Having both attended and performed at this space a few times since they opened, I can confidently say that this space is an incredibly welcome addition to the Ottawa music and piano communities. Whether you are looking for a space near downtown (with parking) to practice, or a fine space to host or attend an acoustic piano concert, you will get the finest instruments in the city and an incredibly attentive and kind staff.”
~Steve Boudreau, Jazz Pianist and Educator
“Need a quiet wonderful organized space for your online exams? This is it.
Great internet connection, wonderful pianos, and it’s very affordable.”
