Natalia Bibik-Chabukiani was born into a musical family in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Beginning to play piano at the age of five, she obtained a degree in piano solo performance from the St. Petersburg State Conservatory of N. Rimsky-Korsakov and continued her music education at The Academy of Music in Tel-Aviv and The Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto (now the Glenn Gould School of Music). Natalia and her husband, Shalva Chabukiani, are founders of and were active players in the Concertino Regina Music Ensemble. Since moving to Ottawa in 2018, Natalia has been playing chamber music all over Ottawa and Toronto with various musicians and groups. In 2023, she began to play with Russian-Canadian violinist Anna Baksheeva. Currently, they are playing many concerts throughout the season under the name Bibik Duo.
Anna Baksheeva is a Russian born violinist. She studied music in Russia, USA ( University of GA) and Canada ( University of Ottawa) and holds Masters Degree in violin performance from University of Ottawa. Ms. Baksheeva came to Canada in 2010 and has became an active free-lance musician and teacher in Ottawa-Gatineau area. She performed over 800 concerts and private music events around the capital region collaborating with her duo partner Andrew Mah, guitarist and Natalia Bibik, pianist. Ms. Baksheeva is a very dedicated violin instructor for over 20 years. Her students play at Ottawa Youth Orchestra Academy and participate in Kiwanis competition and Music Festival. Anna is proud to have taught over 100 violin students since 2010 and helped to achieve great skills in violin and high marks in Royal Conservatory Exams.
